Education minister slams PA attempt at UNESCO membership

Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar condemned the Palestinian campaign to receive full UN membership status through UNESCO on Thursday, calling it an attempt to bypass current discussions in the Security Council on Palestinian statehood.
Speaking at the General Assembly in Paris, Sa'ar explained that Palestinians will not receive their statehood through UNESCO. It is not the duty of UNESCO to establish new states, he said.
