Egypt's Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday that the US push to renew the Middle East peace process includes an Israeli guarantee to allow for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within two years, Army Radio reported. According to the plan, formal letters of guarantees were to be exchanged between both sides. Also, the plan is for the Israelis and Palestinians to reach a compromise on the issue of final status borders within nine months, before the end of the 10-month settlement construction moratorium.
