The Egyptian army early Monday morning foiled an attempt to bomb a Coptic church in Rafah, Egypt Independent reported.
According to the report, security forces patrolling the area identified two unlicensed vehicles located in close proximity of the church, one of which, containing several masked men, fled the scene upon detection.
The second vehicle, seized by the military, reportedly contained two machine guns, 50 bullets, a rocket-propelled grenade and an RPG launcher.
Coptic Christians celebrate Christmas on January 7.
