Egyptian students march from Cairo University to Tahrir

A demonstration that began in Cairo University called on Egyptian students to join their march to Tahrir Square protesting against the military council that has controlled the government since former-president Hosni Mubarak stepped down in February, Egyptian daily Al Shorouk reported Sunday.

Two people have been killed and at least 766 people injured in the mass gathering in Downtown Cairo in the biggest security challenge yet for the country's ruling generals days before scheduled elections.

Earlier Sunday, Al Azhar University, Cairo's most influential Islamic school of learning, condemned the events in Tahrir Square, calling on Egyptians to "preserve the Egyptian revolution," according to Al Shorouk.
