Histadrut chair Ofer Eini confirmed Thursday that the general strike which began Wednesday over the conditions facing contract workers would continue into Saturday.

Speaking with Channel 10 news, Eini said that a single paragraph in a deal presented by the Treasury was stymieing a resolution to the conflict which has shut down transportation, schools, hospitals, garbage collection and more services throughout the country.

Part of the agreement which Eini rejected was a paragraph that said that the relevant parties could not call a general strike again until 2016.
