The Israel Electric Corporation asked the public not to use energy-guzzling appliances during afternoon hours beginning Sunday in expectation of a coming heat wave.

The company expects electricity use in Israel to reach peak year-round use in the next week due to the rising temperatures and wants to prevent a system overload during the typical peak-use hours of 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
