The family involved in the car accident in which eight of its members were killed overnight Monday near Tiberias were residents of Bar Yohai near Mount Meron in the Galilee.

Police stated that the cars brakes were worn down to the point that the vehicle could not stop on the steep downhill grade where the accident occurred.

Police were further investigating the circumstances of the incident.
