Firefighters were preparing for the possibility of evacuating the community of Lotem in Israel's north after a fire broke out Sunday in the nearby forest.

Twelve firefighting teams were called to the area to control the blaze.

In addition to the firefighting teams, two JNF crews, two firefighting planes and a police helicopter were helping to contain the blaze.
