Firefighting crews renew efforts to put out Carmel fires

Efforts to extinguish the fires raging across the Carmel area were renewed early Saturday.

Planes from Russia, France, and Spain were expected to arrive in Israel in the morning to assist with putting out the fires.Meanwhile, firefighting crews were working on rescuing residents of Ein Hod's Artist Village, who were feared to be trapped by surrounding fires, according to a report by Army Radio.
