Florida swimmers rescued from Hurricane Danielle

Hurricane Danielle is far out over the Atlantic but the Category 2 storm is bringing dangerous rip currents to the US East Coast.

Lifeguards had to rescue dozens of swimmers off the Florida coast. Danielle's maximum sustained winds were near 105 mph (165 kph) on Saturday. It is about 355 miles (575 kilometers) east of Bermuda and is forecast to pass well east of the island. The US National Hurricane Center in Miami has discontinued a tropical storm watch for the island.Farther out in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Earl is nearing hurricane strength with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (105 kph). It's expected to become a hurricane Sunday.

A hurricane warning is in effect for several islands in the eastern Caribbean, including Antigua and Montserrat.
