Former defense minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer was rushed to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin on Saturday night after feeling pain.

Doctors examined him and decided to keep him overnight for additional tests and monitoring of his condition.

Ben-Eliezer has been suffering from poor health for years. He is also facing criminal charges of bribery, money- laundering, fraud, breach of public trust and tax offenses.

The hospital said that he is fully conscious and his situation is stable.
