PARIS — French airports have curtailed flights and drivers were lining up for gasoline on a new day of nationwide strikes and protests over a bill raising the retirement age to 62.

Workers in sectors across the French economy joined in strikes Tuesday after a week of disruptions by oil refinery workers and students.

Labor unions planned protests to try to push the government to scrap the pension reform.
