Gambia announced that it was cutting all ties with Iran on Monday, Reuters reported. Foreign Ministry sources said the move was a result of a recent seizure of a weapons shipment from Iran supposedly bound for Gambia.

In an official statement Monday, the Gambian Foreign Ministry said, "All government of the Gambia projects and programs, which were [being] implemented in cooperation with the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran have been cancelled," according to the report.
