IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz made a surprise visit to the Binyamin Regional Brigade in the West Bank on Wednesday to inspect their readiness for violence that could break out following the Palestinian’s unilateral declaration of statehood in September.

Gantz joined an IDF inspection team that was visiting the brigade’s various units and oversaw various simulations aimed at preparing the soldiers, who serve near Ramallah, for demonstrations and possible violence that could erupt in September.

The drill included marches along Road 443 which connects Jerusalem with Tel Aviv as well as terror attacks.
