German citizen indicted for murder of Rachel Jano

The Tel Aviv District Attorney's office filed an indictment on Monday charging Valentin Schortz, a German citizen, with the brutal murder of florist Rachel Jano.
Jano, aged 62, was strangled and stabbed to death last month in her apartment on Ibn Gvirol street, a central Tel Aviv thoroughfare.
Her suspected killer, Schortz, had been living in Israel since 2009 and had entered on a tourist visa. The German citizen allegedly claim to be a new immigrant named David Schwartz, the son of a German Jewish father.
