BERLIN  — A woman opened fire in a hospital in Germany's  Black Forest on Sunday, killing at least one person and wounding several others, before fatally shooting herself, German officials said.

Police in the town of Loerrach confirmed that a shooting had taken place at the Elisbethen hospital, in southwestern Germany, but did not elaborate.

State police in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg state where Loerrach is located, told the DAPD new agency that a woman had opened fire in the hospital, killing one person and wounding two others, before killing herself.

They said there was no immediate motive for the shooting.
