Group petitions High Court to reduce male military service

The Movement for Quality Government Thursday asked the High Court to annul the temporary order in the National Security Law that extends men's mandatory military service requirement from two and a half to three years, Israel Radio reported.

On Wednesday, the Knesset extended the validity of the temporary order for another year and a half.

The Movement for Quality government in its petition to the court called the order unlawful and in violation of the fundamental rights of soldiers.
