An indictment was filed on Thursday in the Haifa District Court charging Zvi Rozenberg with the premeditated murder of his 74 year old mother, Ettel Rozenberg, earlier this month.

According to the indictment, 47 year old Rozenberg, who lived in the same apartment as his mother, attacked her in the early hours of the morning on September 7. After knocking her to the ground, Rozenberg then asphyxiated his mother by putting his knee on her throat until she stopped breathing.

Alongside the indictment, the Haifa District Attorney's Office also filed a request to remand Rozenberg in custody for the duration of the proceedings against him.
