Hamas leader in Damascus Khaled Mashaal called on Tuesday for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak to be tried for war crimes in connection with Monday's Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla in which nine activists were killed.

Mashaal, at a press conference in Yemen, said that Monday's clashes aboard the flotilla's Mavi Marmara ship were cause for a new Goldstone Report.

He said that activists aboard the ship were prevented from arriving at Gaza but that they were successful in getting out their message and they "defeated" Israel.
