Haredi yeshiva students who study in an ultra-orthodox yeshiva up until the age of twenty-two will be exempt from military service, reports said Monday.

They will be required to do one year of national service instead, and will then be permitted to join the workforce. The cabinet reportedly made the decision two weeks ago, but the information was not released. The IDF strongly objects to the exemption.
