Health Ministry moves to new office building in Jerusalem

The Health Ministry, whose main functions have for the last four decades been carried out in several rented buildings in Jerusalem, is moving to a new 12-story office building at the edge of the Romema quarter at the western entrance to Jerusalem.

The headquarters and minister’s office have been lodged since the early Seventies in an apartment house in the San Simon quarter’s Rehov Ben-Tabai, while other offices are in Rehov Rivka in the Talpiot quarter and in King David Street. The new building, whose adjacent twin has been allocated to house much of the Welfare and Social Services Ministry, has 800 underground parking spaces for the Health Ministry's employees.

The staffers initially declined to move until they were ensured a bonus for "getting used to" the new place and parking spaces for all. To mark the move, directors-general who have worked in Ben-Tabai gathered together this week to bid farewell to the rented premises and be photographed.
