Helicopter crash in Russia's Far East kills three

MOSCOW - A helicopter crashed on Monday killing three people on board in Russia's far eastern Chukotka region, Russian wires reported citing local Emergencies Ministry officials.
The pilot of the helicopter lost control when an engine failed and the Mi-8 craft, which belonged to a local airline company, crashed bursting into flames on impact."On board the fallen helicopter were five people. Three of them have died," said acting head of the Chukotka Emergency Ministries Alexei Golovatiy.
Outdated infrastructure and regulatory corner cutting plague Russia, and were the causes behind a riverboat accident earlier this month that likely killed more than 120 people .
Similar accidents, including two airplane crashes in recent weeks that killed nearly 50 people, have raised public anger ahead of parliamentary elections later this year and a presidential poll in 2012.
