High Court nixes petitions against Grapel deal

The High Court of Justice denied two petitions late Wednesday evening against the deal to release 25 Egyptian prisoners in return for Ilan Grapel
The first petition was filed by MK Michael Ben-Ami (National Union) and far right religious party Eretz Israel Shelanu ('Our Land of Israel'), and the second by the Almagor Terror Victims Association.A panel of three Justices, Miriam Naor, Esther Hayut and Isaac Amit, heard the petitions on Wednesday afternoon, just days after the High Court had turned down petitions against the Gilad Schalit prisoner release deal.
The justices wrote in their ruling on Wednesday that, from a legal standpoint, the court had no place interfering with the government's decision.
