High Court rejects petition on migrants at Egypt border

The High Court of Justice on Sunday rejected a petition by the NGO "We are refugees," which had called for Israel to let 21 Eritrean migrants on the Egyptian side of the border fence into Israel because there lives were allegedly in danger in Egypt.

Israel decided Thursday to send 18 men in the group back to Egypt while allowing two women and a boy to enter Israel, despite the pending petition.

The High Court ruled Sunday that since the men had already been sent back to Egypt the petition was no longer relevant.
