Hofit Hayat, the pregnant wife of fallen firefighter Danny Hayat, said "you are my hero" in parting remarks at her husband's funeneral on Sunday in Afula.

Family, friends and residents from Afula came to mourn Hayat after he succumbed to injuries sustained in the Carmel fire.

Hofit continued to thank her husband "for the little princess that is in me, on the great love that I received from you, and on the coffee you would make me in the morning.

"God was supposed to save you, but he took you as he takes the saintly.  I promise you I will be strong exactly like you expected of me."
