Hundreds to protest domestic violence against women

Hundreds of people will gather at WIZO House in Tel Aviv on Thursday for a mock funeral protesting the killing of 18 women this year in domestic violence in Israel.

The mourners will be led by Welfare Minister Isaac Herzog; Kadima head MK Tzipi Livni, and other lawmakers and celebrities.

According to WIZO, the women's social welfare organization, the number of females killed by members of their family climbed to 18 from 15 last year. Seven of the victims were Arabs, three were Ethiopian Jews and three were from the former Soviet Union.
