A Lebanese man crossed into Israel Wednesday for unknown reasons, according to a Lebanese army statement. The IDF confirmed that a Lebanese citizen had crossed the border into Israel, and that he was detained. The Lebanese statement said that 35-year-old Abdul-Latif Yassin crossed the border at the Sheik Abbad Hill, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) southeast of Beirut, noting that he was taking tranquilizers because of family problems. The Lebanese army said it was investigating the case and working for the return of the man in coordination with UN peacekeepers based in southern Lebanon. UN officials were not immediately available for comment.
