An IDF soldier drowned on Wednesday in a water reservoir in southern Israel, the army announced. The soldier was identified as Cpl. Ilan Yankelevich from Netanya.

The soldier's family was informed of his death and the IDF opened an investigation in addition to the police investigating the incident.
