An IDF soldier was seriously injured on Friday after a grenade accidentally exploded during an exercise at a southern base. 

In response, Major General Kobi Barak has announced the establishment of a team to investigate the incident. The team will be headed by Colonel Shuki Rabak, the head of Infantry and Paratrooper units in the army.

Additionally, the use of grenades  in drills has been suspended for the duration of the investigation.
