"Israel agreed to a ceasefire three times. Hamas rejected it," Israel's U.N. Ambassador Ron Prosor said on Sunday at the United Nations as the Security Council held an emergency meeting on the escalating crisis between Israel and the Palestinians.

"The solution is simple," he said. "If there is quiet in Israel there will be quiet in Gaza."
