A six-month-old baby was pronounced dead at Hadassa Ein Carem Hospital in Jerusalem on Monday, although authorities estimate that the infant died sometime overnight Sunday.

The cause of death was unknown, but police suspected the infant's parents of neglect and took them into custody.  There were no signs of violence on the body and the cause of death may have been sudden infant death syndrome, according to police.
