Iran condemned Israel on Saturday over this weekend's IAF strikes in Gaza and at the Rafah border crossing, the Iranian Students' News Agency reported.

The report quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast as saying that Israel carried out its bombing campaign n the Gaza Strip in order to "shift the blame onto other countries to escape its own interior problems and divert public opinion in the region and the world away from the situation in the occupied lands."

Mehmanparast called for international organizations and human rights NGOs to issues similar condemnations of the IAF air strikes in Gaza, ISNA said.
