TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's official news agency says authorities have hanged the brother of the leader of a Sunni militant group that has waged an insurgency in the southeastern region bordering Pakistan.

IRNA says Abdulhamid Rigi was executed on Monday in Zahedan, where he had "terrorized the citizens." He was captured in Pakistan in 2008 and extradited to Iran.
