Iran sanctions vote scheduled for Wednesday

UNITED NATIONS — The US and its allies called for a vote on a resolution that would impose new UN sanctions on Iran and its powerful Revolutionary Guard over its suspect nuclear program, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Mexico's UN Ambassador Claude Heller, the current council president, told reporters that the Security Council vote would take place Wednesday morning.
