The government of Manitoba and the Jewish National Fund will sign a memorandum
of understanding (MoU) for the joint advancement of wetland science, education
and management on Monday at the Agmon-Hula Reserve, the JNF said Saturday
night.
Manitoba’s Oak Hammock Marsh and Israel’s Agmon-Hula wetlands are
geographically situated within important watersheds and transcontinental
north-south bird migration flyways, according to the JNF.
The MoU will be
signed by Christine Melnick, Manitoba’s water minister, and Efi Stenzler, JNF
world chairman.
Manitoba signed another MoU last week with the Society
for the Protection of Nature in Israel to promote scientific study of bird
migrations.
