The Israel Police has arrested a Foreign Ministry accountant who worked in the Israeli Embassy in Jordan on suspicion of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The arrest came after the National Serious and International Crimes Unit ran an undercover investigation on suspicion of illegal activity by the accountant in conjunction with Jordanian citizens who worked at the embassy.
The accountant is suspected of stealing public funds, forging documents and money laundering.
Police said the investigation was carried with the full cooperation of Jordanian law enforcement.
