TOKYO - Japan has lifted a tsunami alert for the northeast coast, public broadcaster NHK said, about two hours after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast on Sunday morning.

There were no reports of damage from the earthquake, which triggered an evacuation of some workers at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and a 10 cm (4 inch) tsunami, NHK said.
