Jerusalem Municipality against Wallaja separation fence

The Jerusalem Municipality called for a new review of the building and routing of the separation fence near the village of Wallaja due to the environmental damage it has caused, Israel Radio reported Monday.

The municipality presented the issue to the High Court along with a village petition against the establishment of the fence.

The city criticized the Defense Ministry, saying that it was not informed of the building at any stage and that construction in the area has already caused irreversible realities.

The city warned that the fence will dislocate Jerusalem municipality territory and will lead to planning and administrative chaos.

According to Jerusalem authorities, the fence will damage the landscape, natural environment and the vegetation of the surrounding neighborhoods in a drastic way.
