US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke by telephone on Thursday night with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as peace talks reached a new stumbling block. 

Kerry called the leaders following Israel's announcement earlier in the day that it had called off an expected release of a fourth batch of Palestinian prisoners due to the Palestinian decision to apply for admission to 15 international treaties and conventions.
