The Knesset Finance Committee on Wednesday approved a government decision to add NIS 1 billion to the defense budget, Israel Radio reported.

Half of the budget increase is intended to fund the relocation of several IDF bases.

With the approval of the additional NIS 1 billion, the defense establishment will be receiving a total of NIS 5 billion by the end of the year.

The Finance Committee also approved a government decision to cut NIS 286 million from the budgets of other government ministries.
