Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry held a phone call on Saturday to discuss ways of resolving the conflict in Syria, Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement.

"They discussed .... the possibility of a Russian-American cooperation in the fight against terrorist groups in Syria," the statement said.
