The attorney of Israeli Odeh Tarabin who has been in Egyptian prison for more than 10 years, called on Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to fight for his release as he did for Rafael Hadad, Israel Radio reported Sunday.

Attorney Itzhak Meltzer wrote to Lieberman that he would be visiting Tarabin in Cairo and he wondered how he will explain that an Israel was freed from Libya within several months, yet is unable to release Tarabin after years.

Meltzer said that the issue of Tarabin's release was raised in discussions between Israeli and Egyptian officials in Cairo.

Tarabin was convicted of spying for Israel in Egypt and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
