Leader of Canada's separatist Bloc resigns

OTTAWA - The leader of Canada's separatist Bloc Quebecois said on Monday he was resigning in the wake of a crushing election defeat.
Gilles Duceppe -- who lost his own seat -- made the announcement in a speech to supporters. The Bloc, which wants independence for the province of Quebec, fell to just two seats in the federal House of Commons from 47.
