Lebanese general: No interest in war, clashes with Israel

Chief of the Lebanese army Gen. Jean Kahwaji on Friday said that the Lebanese army does not intend to repeat clashes with Israel, Israel Radio reported.

In a meeting with media reporters, the general said that the Lebanese army is not interested in war with Israel and that since the clashes earlier in the month, steps have been taken to prevent future incidents.

According to the report, the general met with US envoy Frederic Hof and reassured him that Lebanon is not interested in a conflict with Israel.
