Libyan rebel leaders ask to represent country at UN

Libya's rebel leaders sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday saying the National Transitional Council wants to represent the country at the United Nations, the new president of the UN General Assembly said.
Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, who took over the presidency Tuesday at the start of the assembly's 66th session, said that the rebel leaders asked Ban to forward the letter to the General Assembly.
