Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman talked with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov over the phone on Monday morning, according to the Defense Ministry.

Lieberman and Lavrov discussed the situation in Syria and the ceasefire negotiations taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan between Russia, Iran, and the UN.

The two ministers also discussed reviving the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Lieberman and Lavrov scheduled a meeting in order to continue discussions between them at the Munich Security Conference taking place later in February.
