Opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Saturday said in response to the Friday op-ed article written by Judge Richard Goldstone in the Washington Post, that "Operation Cast Lead was an important and justified mission with or without Goldstone."

Livni stated that the efforts to "fix" the damage done by the Goldstone Report must be of much wider scope than a mere newspaper article.

"Goldstone should fix the damage done in all of the forums which condemned Israel in the spirit of his report."
