In a meeting with European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, opposition leader Tzipi Livni cautioned that the democratic movements taking place in the Arab Spring could move in the wrong direction.

"Europe experienced in the [1930s] what can happen when radicals gain control of countries through democracy," Livni said in a statement published on her Facebook page. "Europe must ensure that the changes in the Arab world do not end with such a democracy, with a system that can prevent radicals from controlling Arab states through democracy.
