Kadima and opposition leader Tzipi Livni phoned Ashkelon Mayor Beni Vaknin on Monday afternoon to express criticism of Sunday’s decision to change the location of the fortified Barzilai emergency room after ancient bones were found at the originally-planned site.
“Jewish values are grounded in treatment for the ill,” Livni told Vaknin. “There has to be a limit to this cynical behavior that is based on payment for [government] seats.”
Livni stressed she hoped “the events of the last few days will make the public understand that we cannot accept politics like this.”
