Former foreign minister Tzipi Livni on Monday slammed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for approving settlement construction in east Jerusalem and the West Bank.

"As foreign minister I had a lot of fights (with counterparts in other countries) over critically important issues," Livni told Army Radio. "This was not a critical issue."

Livni also attacked the prime minister for weakening Israel's relationship with the United States over the issue. "Today, when the US stands alone because Israel has isolated it, how does that reflect on us?"
